Primary Health Medical Group, the largest independent medical group in Idaho, has had to close two of its 19 urgent care clinics in southwestern Idaho because of sick or quarantined staff. The clinics are a buffer keeping hospital emergency rooms in the region from getting clogged with patients not needing emergency level care. Oklahoma is one of the states consistently breaking records for new cases, and the strain is being felt in hospitals. Bed space is running out, and an equally daunting problem is a shortage of nursing staff. Dr. Sam Ratermann, director of the hospitalist program at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma, said patients are being transferred from hospital to hospital across the state for lack of beds. Even when we have open ICU beds across the state, we dont have staff to fill them, Ratermann said.

It was basically the idea of my mother to preserve the collection in the form of a book so that Im motivated to write more. Besides, seeing my maternal grandmother, who is a Hindi writer, and my mother tongue being Maithili, publishing the book was quite fascinating to me. Why poetry? And, when did you start writing?I used to write short stories when I was 7 or 8 years old. But it was in Grade 6, when I was 11 that I was given an assignment to write a poem. The one I wrote was God Is in My Heart and it was greatly appreciated by my teachers. It was then that I realised that I could write more and developed my interest in it. Then, as if by some stroke of fate, a friend invited me to teach in a classroom setting at a progressive school that uses the iPad and mind mapping a lot. It was pretty daunting at first. Im blessed to learn and teach at the same time. Our school focuses on educating the whole person heart, mind and body. We are aptly called the 360 School. We always say that we want to prepare our learners for life in the future. It is a noble task but Id like to integrate my present teaching style with John Deweys quote above. After almost two years in the classroom, I have a better idea of what kind of teacher I want to be. I want to be a nurturing teacher who recognizes her students individual learning abilities and provide them with opportunities to process their own learning. Easier said than done. It sounds doable if we have a small classroom but when we think of our public schools in the country, I must be joking! It is with sincerity when I say I salute our teachers who can handle a class of 40+ students.

Major smartphone manufacturers, wireless providers, and smaller tech companies have created various apps and services to prevent teens and adults from using smartphones while driving. But at the moment, the adoption and use of them rely largely on users choosing to opt in. And until cars become fully autonomous, dangers will persist from those who choose to use smartphones while driving or become distracted by onboard infotainment systems. Unfortunately, in the short term, we actually could see greater risks because we will have a mix of autonomous, semi autonomous, and manually driven cars, says Deborah Hersman, president and CEO of the National Safety Council. The transition is going to be a little bit of a messy middle. General Motors first introduced its OnStar in car connectivity in 1996. And the company claims it became the first automaker to introduce 4G LTE wireless across its entire retail platform in 2014. Since then, Chevrolet has sold nearly 2. 5 million 4G OnStar LTE connected vehicles. These cellular connections power onboard WiFi hot spots that can be used by up to seven digital devices in a single vehicle.
